O SER HUMANO E O MEIO AMBIENTE: UMA CRISE SEM SAÍDA? 1 1 Palestra proferida na UFSM em outubro de 1991.

MAN AND ENVIRONMENT: A CRISIS WITHOUT ALTERNATIVES?

ABSTRACT

The present work is based on bibliographical review and opinions about man’s consequences for mankind and the ecosystem. The article deals with aspects such as the problem of energy, glass-house effect, the content of CO2, the role of oceans and their alterations, the carbon cycle as well as the principles for reducing CO2, oxidants and ozone. It was also highlighted, the importance of forests as a reducing factor of CO2 and other general aspects related of the proper use of the environment.

Keywords:
environment; pollution; glass-house effect; climate
