I am honored to start as the new Editor-in-Chief of Motriz. I am deeply motivated to guide the next phase of this journal, which has been a part of the scientific community for 20 years.

Motriz was founded in 1995 by Dr. Benedito S Denadai, Dr. Mauro Betti, and Dr. Suraya C Darido from the Department of Physical Education, Institute of Biosciences, São Paulo State University, at Rio Claro, Brazil. Most recently led by Dr Eliane Mauerberg de Castro, Motriz started to publish English-only articles.

The Journal was founded as an Exercise Science Journal dealing with a broad area including Education, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Sports and Neurosciences.

I have asked some colleagues to join me on the Editorial Board of the Journal as Associate Editors who will assist me on their expertise Field:

Dr Adriano P Ciena is an Assistant Professor at the São Paulo State University (UNESP): Neuroscience and neuroanat omy section.
Dr Camila de Moraes is an Assistant Professor at the University of Sao Paulo-Ribeirão Preto (USP/RP): Exercise and health section.
Dr Maria Andréia Delbin is an Assistant Professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP): Physiology section.
Dr Marco Antonio Cossio-Bolanõs is an Assistant Professor at the Catholic University Del Maule, Talca, Chile: Sports and Human Performance section.
Dr Romulo A Fernandes is an Assistant Professor at the São Paulo State University (UNESP): Epidemiology and Biostatistics section.
Dr Sandro Carnicelli is an Assistant Professor at the University of the West of Scotland, UK: Leisure and humanities section.
Mrs Vanessa Vaz has agreed to be the Editorial Manager, that will manage the daily operations of the Journal and she will be the first point of contact for anyone with questions related to the Journal.

My main objective for Motriz Journal is to rapidly publish high-quality original articles, reviews, editorials, and case reports in the Exercise Science.

I would like to thank all of the reviewers and Editors who have given of their time to ensure that only high-quality manuscripts are published in Motriz Journal.

I also thank the authors, for considering Motriz Journal for their manuscript.
