Editorial

The March 2016 issue of the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal (Volume 9 Number 3) is now released with eight articles related to engineering applications of concrete structures and materials. This issue begins with an integrated slab/column approach for the numerical simulation of reinforced concrete flat slabs. The second article brings a risk analysis of delayed ettringite formation in pile caps foundation in the Metropolitan Region of Recife. The next article addresses an ultrasonic pulse velocity approach to estimate compressive strength of concrete. The fourth article presents a tridimensional finite element approach to model a tunnel with shotcrete and precast concrete. The objective of the fifth article is to evaluate the modified mortar pad behavior in the transfer of compressive stresses. In the sixth article, a comparative analysis of design models for concrete corbels is presented. The seventh article describes an adaptive procedure for camber control of forward cantilever structures. The issue closes with an article on the evaluation of pyrite and pyrrhotite in concretes.

We would like to acknowledge the dedication of authors and reviewers for the good quality of the articles in this issue.
