A implantação de um trem de alta velocidade em determinada região pode causar grande impacto nos outros modais de transporte existentes nessa região. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar esse impacto no Brasil e em outros países do mundo. Em Taiwan, a reação dos meios de transporte, com relação a preços e frequências, foi estimada através da Teoria dos Jogos. Observou-se que as companhias aéreas perderam uma participação de mercado maior do que os outros modos de transporte.

The deployment of a high speed train network in a certain region may cause a great impact on the other transportation modes of this region. The present paper aims to analyze this kind of impact on Brazil and other countries worldwide. In Taiwan, the reaction of transportation modes, with respect to price and frequency, was estimated by the means of the Game Theory. It was observed that the airlines lost a larger market share than that of other transportation modes.
