O estudo sobre novos movimentos eclesiais na Igreja Católica, desenvolvido na Amazônia Oriental brasileira, permite uma reflexão sobre a influência dessa Igreja em duas áreas rurais do estado do Pará: a Transamazônica e a microrregião de Tomé Açu. Em ambas, sua atuação, através das chamadas Comunidades Eclesiais de Base (CEBs), muito ativas, desempenha papel relevante entre as populações dessas áreas. O artigo se propõe a analisar a condição social dessas populações que, em função de suas vivências e práticas, incorporando criticamente a influência de agentes de pastoral, assumem novas identidades e novas práticas de natureza política e religiosa, antes não existentes em seu meio.Resumo em Inglês:
The study about new ecclesial movements in the Roman Catholic Church, in Oriental Brazilian Amazon, has allowed a reflection on the influence of that Church in two rural areas of the State of Pará: the Transamazônica Highway and the Tomé Açu micro-region. In both, the so-called Ecclesial Base Communities, very active, play important role between the populations of these areas. The article proposes to examine the social condition of those people who, according to their experiences and practices, incorporating critically the influence of pastoral agents, take on new identities, and new political and religious practices, not present before in their territory.Resumo em Português:
O Mobon é um movimento católico, formado sob a influência do Concílio Vaticano II (1962-1965), que teve atuação destacada em comunidades rurais da Zona da Zona da Mata Mineira. O ideal de maior corresponsabilidade entre o clero e os leigos ocupou lugar de relevo no movimento, que promoveu cursos para a organização de comunidades e lideranças leigas, com o objetivo de que essas se tornassem menos dependentes da atuação dos párocos locais. Nos cursos eram utilizadas metáforas e representações simbólicas do mundo rural com propósitos de promover uma maior compreensão, visando a maior participação leiga. O texto tem como propósito apresentar uma análise desse processo de atuação comunitária da Igreja Católico e do papel relevante adquirido pela práxis comunicativa no processo relacional entre missionários e grupos católicos leigos.Resumo em Inglês:
Mobon is a catholic movement established under the influence of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), and played an important role in rural communities in Zona da Mata, Minas Gerais. The ideal of a strong co-responsibility between the clergy and laity was a hallmark of this movement, which offered courses to community organizations and layman leaderships to become more independent from local clerics. In these courses, metaphors and symbolic representations of the rural environment were used for a better comprehension, aiming for strong laity engagement. The present text aims to analyze this process of community action of the Catholic Church, emphasizing the key role played by the communicative praxis in the relational process between missionaries and layman Catholic groups.Resumo em Português:
Este artigo aborda aspectos da cultura de Pirenópolis através de um festejo anualmente realizado na cidade: as cavalhadas, rito de fundo religioso que integra a tradicional festa do Divino Espírito Santo. Seu palco, a pequena Pirenópolis, se localiza no interior do estado de Goiás e se caracteriza por uma marcante interface entre o universo urbano e o rural. Para a população local, os dias festivos representam importantes momentos de socialização e também de compartilhamento de valores. A festa religiosa permite que se constitua uma noção de pertencimento coletivo a uma comunidade de fiéis, além de reforçar anualmente elementos da cultura local. A partir de perspectiva etnográfica, analisaremos: a dimensão familiar envolvida no processo festivo; distinções entre tempos e modos de festejar femininos e masculinos; significados contidos na encenação das cavalhadas.Resumo em Inglês:
This article approaches aspects of Pirenópolis's culture through one party annually carried out: the cavalhadas, a religious rite that integrates the traditional Holy Spirit festival. The stage of the party, Pirenópolis, is a small town in the state of Goiás, mid-west of Brazil. It is characterized by a close relation between the urban universe and the rural one. For the local population, the party represents an important socialization moment, when collective values are shared. Through the religious celebration a notion of collective belonging to a community of believers is created; moreover, some local culture elements are reinforced. Based in an ethnographic perspective, we'll analyze: the familiar dimension of the festivity process; differences about gender's way of significating the party experience; meanings involved in the cavalhada's representation.Resumo em Português:
Este artigo busca discutir, a partir do exame de uma literatura sociológica e antropológica produzida atualmente na França, a experiência comunitária no catolicismo francês contemporâneo. Partindo da ideia de crise das grandes religiões institucionalizadas com o consequente advento de uma religião do self, que cada vez mais se consagra como chave de análise de uma sociologia da religião moderna, pergunta-se qual a pertinência das coletividades e comunidades religiosas no cenário francês. Observando as situações do quadro paroquial, das recentes tensões e mudanças no regime de laicidade francesa (cujo aspecto universalista se direciona-se uma acomodação com o comunitarismo), e da Renovação Carismática, pretende-se expor os arranjos e compromissos que, no seio do catolicismo francês atual, permitem articular individualismo e coletivismo, modernidade e tradição.Resumo em Inglês:
This article discusses, from an examination of sociological and anthropological literature currently produced in France, the communal experience in contemporary french catholicism. Originating in an idea gaining increasing acceptance as key to the analysis of a sociology of modern religion, namely the crisis of large institutionalized religions, with the consequent emergence of a religion of self, the question arises as to the relevance of collectivities and communities in the religious and Catholic setting of France. By examining three situations analyzed by this literature: the parochial scenario, the recent tensions and changes in the French policy of laicity (secularism) in its universalistic aspect toward communitarianism, and finally, that of Charismatic Renewal, the aim is to show the arrangements and compromises that allow for the articulation of individualism with collectivism, and modernity with tradition, in the heart of French Catholicism today.Resumo em Português:
Este artigo versa sobre igrejas no país que se autodenominam "inclusivas", espécie de movimento noticiado pela mídia entre os anos 1990 e 2000, como "igrejas gays". O foco incide sobre o surgimento no Brasil da Igreja da Comunidade Metropolitana - uma famosa denominação ativista, criada em 1968 nos Estados Unidos - e sua transformação em Igreja Cristã Contemporânea. Analisa como ela se consolidou a partir de influências locais e de um diálogo com ideias de sistemas religiosos do campo hegemônico. Argumenta que a implantação desse grupo compreende coloridos regionais, fornecidos por noções oriundas de passagens e mediações realizadas pelos sujeitos entre suas comunidades de origem e uma nova alternativa religiosa. This article examines the movement of churches in Brazil that call themselves "inclusionary", and identified in the media between 1990 and 2000 as "gay churches." It focuses on the rise of the Metropolitan Community Church in Brazil - a well-known activist denomination created in 1968 in the United States and its transformation into the Contemporary Christian Church. It analyzes how this church established itself based on local influences and a dialog with ideas from hegemonic religious systems. The paper argues that the implantation of this group encompasses regional variations provided by notions that come from the passages and mediations realized by the subjects between their communities of origin and their adhesion to a new religious alternative. It examines some models and images of homosexuality cultivated and produced in this plural movement.Resumo em Português:
Este paper trata das relações sociais estruturadas no âmbito das Reservas Particulares do Patrimônio Natural (RPPNs), áreas naturais protegidas pela legislação ambiental que podem ser institucionalizadas em domínios privados. Emerge, nesse contexto, uma nova identidade social, o "RPPNista", aquele que além de deter a propriedade privada do espaço natural ainda recebe e se autoatribui o direito e o dever de zelar por sua proteção. Através de articulações, acordos, dissensos, produzidos nesse campo de relações, constitui-se a "comunidade RPPNista". Pretende-se refletir aqui sobre o "campo de possibilidades" a partir do qual se estruturam os projetos dos RPPNistas e sobre como, ao instituir tal comunidade de sentidos, esses sujeitos reconfiguram a si mesmos, enquanto constroem simbolicamente a natureza apropriada como reserva particular.Resumo em Inglês:
This paper is about social relations grounded in the realm of Reservas Particulares do Patrimônio Natural - RPPNs (Private Natural Heritage Reserves), natural areas protected by the environmental legislation on their way to be institutionalized in private domains. In this context, a new social identity comes up, the RPPNista, the one not only possessing private property of the natural site but also receiving and ascribing himself the right and duty of protecting it. By means of articulations, agreeings and disagreeings happened in the field of relations, the RPPNista community is formed. One intends to reflect upon the field of possibilities from which the RPPNistas' projects get structured and upon how, by establishing such a community of meanings, these individual reshape themselves, while they symbolically construct the owned nature as a private reservation.Resumo em Português:
O objetivo deste artigo é enfocar a questão das formações comunitárias no contexto dos novos movimentos religiosos, tratando especificamente do Movimento Raeliano, em cujo cenário se imbricam valores individualistas de uma religião do self de perfil Nova Era e as formações comunitárias possíveis e impossíveis nesse contexto específico. Tomando a família como via de análise da relação indivíduo e comunidade, o artigo discute a maneira como o projeto religioso raeliano, que pauta o indivíduo como valor e que rejeita a configuração familiar cristã, dissolve-se não na ausência de formações comunitárias, mas na modelagem de agregações comunitárias mais voláteis, menos coesas, porém não menos complexas e viáveis enquanto comunidades transnacionais mediadas pelos veículos de comunicação de massa.Resumo em Inglês:
This article focuses on the question of how communities are formed in the context of new religious movements, specifically the Raelian Movement, a religious group in which individualist values typical of a New Age self religion merge with both possible and impossible community formations. Identifying the family as a key element in the analysis of the relation between individual and community, this article discusses how the Raelian religious project - which takes the individual as a value and strongly rejects the Christian familiar configuration - is dissolved not in the absence of community formations, but in the shaping of community assemblages that are more volatile and less cohesive, but no less complex and viable as transnational communities mediated by the mass media.Resumo em Espanhol:
Este texto explora una dimensión particular des las prácticas religiosas en migración. El fenómeno chamánico constituye actualmente un paisaje multipolar, atravesado por desplazamientos regulares de expertos en rituales y de practicantes, a la vez que por la mobilidad y la constante reconfiguración de las prácticas rituales. Estas itinerancias y estancias transcontinentales marcan a las comunidades locales, llevándolas hacia una reformulación de sus propios rituales de uso interno o regional. El chamanismo en su versión transcontinental se estructura según un continuum organizacional en diversas escalas que abre, enmarca, y reproduce los itinerarios que relacionan a los territorios del chamanismo habitualmente llamado "étnico" con las recomposiciones urbanas tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Este continuum se sitúa efectivamente en el cruce de los "chamanismos urbanos" nacionales e internacionales que se construyen alrededor de la doble figura del "indígena" y de la "selva", en cuanto recursos simbólicos revalorizados. Por ende, este texto se propone analizar el papel central de la capacidad chamánica, reclasificada como "saber", para la reformulación el replanteamiento de las jerarquías simbólicas de validez nacional e internacional, instituidas durante la colonización.Resumo em Inglês:
The following text explores a particular aspect of religious practice and migration. Shamanism presents itself today as a multi-polar landscape, criss-crossed by regular movements of ritual experts and practitioners and by the continuous diffusion and reconfiguration of practices. These intercontinental travels and settlements influence the local communities and lead them to rethink and adapt their own internal and regional practices. The intercontinental version of shamanism presents an organizational continuum that withholds, allows and reproduces a set of itineraries that binds together, on a national and international scale, the territories of the so-called "ethnical" shamanism and its urban adaptations. In fact, this continuum rests upon the encounter of national and international "urban shamanisms" that structure themselves by looking at the "indigenous" as a revalued and ultimate resource-location. By addressing the shamanic expertise classified as "knowledge" in this particular context, we shall question its influence on the national and international symbolic hierarchies that originated in colonization.
