Este artigo tem como objetivo identificar e analisar as diferentes questões e interfaces entre os estudos antropológicos sobre gênero e sexualidade e os movimentos sociais pelos direitos das mulheres e pelos direitos à diversidade sexual no Brasil. Entendo que esses estudos, especialmente nas últimas duas décadas, têm ampliado suas questões, no sentido da corporalidade, do self, da subjetividade, da agência, dos sentimentos e afetos. Sempre reforçando relações de gênero como diferentes posiçõesde poder e hierarquia, o conceito de gênero é entendido como tornando-se ou podendo tornar-se em outra forma, não mais identidades, mas identificações, propondo uma ruptura das dicotomias como a heterossexualidade e a homossexualidade, masculinidade e feminilidade. Esses estudos revelam os desafios políticos entre, de um lado, a luta pelos direitos humanos das mulheres e pela diversidade sexual e, de outro lado, a luta pela diversidade cultural, bem como os efeitos políticos da escolha de diferentes metodologias antropológicas.

This article aims to identify and analyze different issues and interfaces between anthropological studies on gender and sexuality, and social movements for women's rights and for rights for sexual diversity in Brazil. I argue that these studies, especially on the last two decades, have enlarged their issues, towards corporeality, self and subjectivity, agency, feelings and affects. Always reinforcing gender relations as different positions in power and hierarchy, the concept of gender is understood in the mode of becoming or becoming otherwise, no more identities, but identifications, proposing a rupture of dichotomies as heterosexuality and homosexuality, masculinity and femininity. These studies reveal the political challenges between the fight for human rights of women and sexual diversity and the fight for cultural diversity, as well as political effects from different choices of anthropological methodologies.

Este artigo examina as contribuições dos estudos antropológicos recentes feitos no Brasil sobre diferentes experiências envolvidas nos erotismos contemporâneos, sobretudo no que elas permitem decifrar articulações entre práticas sexuais, normas de gênero e limites da sexualidade (isto é, a zona fronteiriça onde habitam norma e transgressão, consentimento e abuso, prazer e dor). O balanço dessa bibliografia pretende lançar luz sobre as principais abordagens empregadas e, em particular, examinar como os prazeres e os perigos dos erotismos têm sido tratados a partir das problemáticas do consentimento, do contrato, da erotização dos corpos e, finalmente, dos riscos envolvidos nessas práticas.

This paper examines the contribution of recent brazilian anthropological studies regarding the different experiences involved in contemporary erotisms, focusing mostly on the connections between sexual practices, gender norms and sexuality limits (boarder line where co exist norm and transgression, consentment and abuse, pleasure and pain). The review of this specific literature inteds to shed some light upon the most important approaches on the subject, particularly examining how erotisms' pleasures and dangers have been treated related to issues of consentment, agreement, body's erotization and finally the risks those practices involve.

Este ensaio busca contribuir para a análise do campo de estudos socioantropológicos sobre diversidade sexual e de gênero no Brasil. Nele, são mapeadas questões e abordagens que ganharam destaque na conformação mais recente desse campo, marcado pela crítica à "homossexualidade" como categoria classificatória e identidade social englobante. Interessa-nos apontar alguns problemas de ordem conceitual e metodológica que têm se erguido como desafios aos pesquisadores, em um contexto de extraordinária multiplicação do número de investigações sobre sexualidade e gênero, bem como de crescente politização desses temas.

This essay seeks to contribute to the analysis of the field of socio-anthropological studies on sexual and gender diversity in Brazil. It maps issues and approaches that were highlighted in the latest conformation of this field, marked by the critics of "homosexuality' as an encompassing classificatory category and social identity. We are interested in pointing out some conceptual and methodological issues that have been raised as challenges in the context of an extraordinary increase of research on sexuality and gender, as well as increasing politicization of these topics.

Neste artigo, apresentamos uma revisão crítica com base em 78 trabalhos antropológicos produzidos no Brasil a partir do entrecruzamento das temáticas da sexualidade, da sociabilidade e do mercado. Relacionamos o conjunto de pesquisas aqui trazido com processos sociais e relativos ao campo de estudos antropológicos mais amplos. Identificamos processos de mudança relativos aos objetos empíricos e enquadramentos analíticos mobilizados por tais estudos, produzidos no país desde os anos 1960. Por fim, apontamos como os estudos que partiram de locais de sociabilidade e que, mais recentemente, passaram a tematizar de algum modo o mercado de consumo, constituíram parte muito significativa da produção antropológica brasileira sobre sexualidade, que nas duas últimas décadas cresceu e se diversificou.

We hereby bring a critical review based on 65 anthropological works carried out in Brazil and encompassing the themes of sexuality, sociability and market. We relate the investigations presented here to social processes and to processes from the broader field of anthropological studies. We have identified processes of change to empirical objects and analytical frameworks, both of which are mobilized by the aforementioned studies, which have been produced in the country since the 1960s. Finally, we point out how the studies of places of sociability - studies which recently have somehow started theming the consumer market - have been a very significant part of the Brazilian anthropological literature on sexuality, which has grown and diversified over the past two decades.

A produção acadêmica brasileira sobre intersexualidade no campo da antropologia em particular, mas também nas Ciências Humanas e Sociais, é ainda tímida, embora se possa observar seu crescimento nos últimos anos. De forma geral, os trabalhos tomam a perspectiva feminista como referencial para as análises. Neste artigo, será indicada uma espécie de caminho teórico e também político que pode ser traçado entre as questões feministas, mais especificamente ligadas ao campo dos estudos da ciência, e a intersexualidade. Serão abordados alguns aspectos da recente produção acadêmica latino-americana, nas Ciências Humanas e Sociais sobre intersexualidade, apontando para determinadas particularidades da constituição desse campo nesse contexto. Trata-se, assim, de um breve e não exaustivo balanço sobre essas produções na América Latina e o modo como essa também é uma história que começa a ser escrita, bem como articulada e somada às discussões sobre antropologia, gênero e sexualidade no Brasil.

Brazilian academic production regarding intersexuality specially in the anthropology field but also in Humanities and Social sciences is still shy. It is possible to observe a grown in the last years though. Generally these works use the feminist perspective as referential to their analyses. This article will point a kind of theoretical and political path that may be written between feminist issues, specially those connected to the science studies field, and intersexuality. Recent aspects of Latin-American academic production will be approached in Humanities and Social sciences about intersexuality, pointing to some peculiar aspects of this field constitution in this context. It treats about a brief and not exhausting balance about this Latin-American production and the way in witch this is a story that starts to be written as well as articulated and added to the broader discussions about anthropology, gender and sexuality in Brazil.

Neste texto apresento uma leitura crítica de parte da recente produção antropológica sobre intercâmbios sexuais e econômicos, realizada no Brasil. Delineio primeiro alguns traços do contexto no qual foram realizados esses estudos. Considero depois aspectos marcantes dessa produção. Levo em conta a maneira como esses estudos incorporam diferentes dimensões de violência, como tratam das relações entre gênero e sexualidade e como analisam as articulações entre afetos e dinheiro no âmbito do sexo mercantilizado. Finalmente, realizo alguns comentários sobre as singularidades da produção brasileira, em termos da literatura internacional sobre esses temas.

In this article I analyze part of the recent anthropological researches about sexual and economic exchanges carried in Brazil. Taking into account some aspects of the context in which these studies were conducted I consider how they incorporated different dimensions of violence, how they analyze the relations between gender and sexuality and the articulations between affects and money in the realm of commodified sex. Finally, I comment on the singularities of these studies in terms of the international literature about these exchanges.

Muitas das recentes reflexões acerca da produção da diferença e da análise da desigualdade social vêm investindo na articulação entre os chamados "marcadores sociais da diferença". Nesse amplo cenário que envolve os debates acerca dos direitos diferenciados e das políticas de reconhecimento, da produção de novas sensibilidades e da concomitante ressemantização de antigas formas de exclusão, a intersecção entre raça, nação, sexualidade e gênero ganha destaque. O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre a forma como um certo conjunto de marcadores da diferença vem sendo agenciado em reflexões acadêmicas e políticas recentes. Mais especificamente, este artigo irá focar três eixos: 1) o da (re)construção dos Estados nacionais e de certas representações de nação; 2) o campo dos direitos humanos: da regulação à construção de sujeitos de direitos; e 3) o das identidades subjetivas, do espaço de agência, do cuidado de si e da inserção em novas ou renovadas redes de sociabilidade.

Many of the recent reflections on the production of difference and analysis of social inequality have been putting forth the articulation between the so called "social markers of difference". In this broad field - that involves debates on differential rights, acknowledgement policies, the production of new sensibilities, and at the same time the reformulation of past forms of exclusion - the intersection between race, nation, sexuality and gender is high lightened. The aim of this article is to reflect on the ways a set of markers of difference have been used in academic debates and recent policies. More specifically, the article will focus on three axes: 1) the rebuilding of the national States and of certain national representations; 2) the field of human rights: from the regulation to the construction of the subject of rights; 3) the subjective identities, the room for agency, the care of the self and the new or renewed networks of sociability.

Espero mostrar aqui como a noção de cultura que se transmutou em "simbólico" para os psicanalistas lacanianos é muito diferente da noção de cultura corrente nos estudos culturais contemporâneos, de tal modo que esses dois esforços são frequentemente vistos como inapelavelmente opostos. Também pretendo argumentar que qualquer pretensão a estabelecer as regras que "regulam o desejo" em forma de leis inalteráveis e eternas tem um uso limitado para uma teoria que procura compreender as condições sob as quais a transformação social de gênero é possível.

I hope to show here how the notion of culture that becomes transmuted into the "symbolic" for Lacanian psychoanalysis is very different from the notion of culture that remains current within the contemporary field of cultural studies, such that the two entrerprises are oftem understood as hopelessly opposed. I also plan to argue that any claim to establish the rules thar "regulate desire" in an inalterable and eternal realm of law has limited use for a theory that seeks to understand the conditions under which the social transformation of gender is possible.

En el presente artículo me propongo reflexionar acerca de los procesos transmigratorios que intervienen en la construcción de las identidades de género travestis. Me centraré en las experiencias migratorias de las travestis brasileñas que han viajado y viajan a Europa para insertarse en el mercado del sexo local. Emplearé el concepto "migración trans" para hacer referencia a la especificidad de sus proyectos migratorios: no sólo migran buscando un mayor bienestar social, simbólico y económico, sino que también sus movilizaciones geográficas inciden en la manera de transformar y embellecer sus cuerpos. Las identidades travestis son creadas en estos tránsitos continuos. Al mismo tiempo, se analizará que sus identidades son reconfiguradas en el contexto europeo pues resaltan particularmente su brasileñidad como una estrategia para sobresalir y distinguirse del resto en un mercado del sexo cada vez más limitado por las políticas públicas y la crisis económica.

In this paper I will reflect on transmigratory processes involved in the construction of gender identities in travestis. I will focus on the migratory experiences of Brazilian travesties who have traveled to and who are still re-locating in Europe, seeking insertion into the local sex market. I employ the concept "trans migration" to refer to the specificity of their migratory projects: they not only migrate seeking greater social, symbolic and economic well-being, but also their geographical mobility affects how they transform and beautify their bodies. Identities in travesties are created in this continuous process of transiting. At the same time, an analysis will be made of the reconfiguration of their identities in the European context, because their "Brazilian-ness" is highlighted intentionally as a strategy to excel andto stand out from the rest in a sex market increasingly limited by public policies and economic recession.

Este artículo se propone como una contribución a la historia del servicio doméstico, a partir de la reconstrucción de algunos de los caminos recorridos por el trabajo doméstico remunerado en la Argentina de las décadas centrales del siglo XX. Observamos la construcción de las categorías de mucama "doméstica" y "de hotel" en la legislación de la época y comparamos los derechos laborales obtenidos por unas y otras trabajadoras. Analizamos luego los usos de la ley por parte de distintos actores, en los que se develan continuas superposiciones entre estas categorías laborales. La historia de la legislación laboral y de sus usos revela que, aún décadas después de la emergencia de regímenes legales específicos, existían canales de comunicación entre la situación de unas y otras trabajadoras, asentados en la cercanía de sus tareas con el trabajo doméstico, un trabajo que las mujeres usualmente realizaban de modo gratuito. Si este período fue testigo de la emergencia de unos senderos que se bifurcaban para mucamas de distinto tipo, fue también un escenario propicio para su confusión y superposición, que tuvo como resultado un complejo sistema de desigualdades en el mundo del trabajo y de la justicia.

This article seeks to contribute to the history of domestic service through the reconstruction of some the paths transited by paid domestic work in Argentina in the central decades of the Twentieth Century. We observe the construction of categories such as "domestic maid" and "hotel maid" in the legislation of this period and we compare the different rights granted to these workers. Later, we study the uses of the law performed by different actors, in which the overlapping of those categories is recurrent. The history of the law and its uses reveals that, even decades after different legal regimes were passed, there were channels of communication between the situations of these workers, based in the closeness of their activities with unpaid domestic work, usually done by women. While this period saw the emergence of different paths for different kinds of "maids", it was also the scenery for their confusion and overlapping; the result was a complex system of inequalities in the world of labor and justice.

Este artigo analisa o debate em torno da emancipação feminina no Recife, entre os anos 1870 a 1920, partindo do pressuposto de que as lutas das mulheres, feministas ou não, em Pernambuco e em outros estados brasileiros não cabem mais na narrativa que nomeou esse momento como "primeira onda" do movimento. Há uma episteme sobre o feminino que colocou em foco a "questão da mulher", ressignificando e deslocando o que é ser mulher. Esse intenso debate, multiplicou as possibilidades do feminino num complexo e paradoxal movimento de construir identidade coletiva, de instituir o sujeito de direito feminino diante de um Estado que mudava a forma de governo, porém, mantinha-se conservador, oligárquico e com estreita concepção de democracia e cidadania. Essas mulheres, que desbravaram espaços nitidamente masculinos e questionaram verdades em torno de seu sexo, de seu corpo e de sua inteligência, por meio da palavra escrita, publicando artigos polêmicos com ou sem pseudônimo, foram fundamentais na instituição de uma nova identidade feminina de feição moderna.

This article analyzes the debate on women emancipation in Recife, between 1870 and 1920, assuming that the struggles of women, feminist or not, in Pernambuco and other Brazilian states, no longer fit into the narrative that named this moment as "first wave" of the movement. There is an episteme on "the feminine" that put the focus on "women's issues", resignifying what is being a woman, and moving it. This intense debate multiplied the possibilities of the feminine, in a complex and paradoxical movement in order to build collective identity and establish women as subject of rights before a country that changed its form of government, however, remained conservative, oligarchic, and with a narrow conception of democracy and citizenship. Such women - who braved distinctly masculine spaces and questioned truths about their sex, their body and their intelligence, through the written word, by publishing polemical articles, with or without pseudonyms - were essential at introducing a new feminine identity with a modern aspect.

Principalmente a partir do séc. XIII, as mulheres transformam-se em uma "questão" incômoda. Percebe-se um progressivo fechamento dos espaços a que elas tinham acesso mais livre, O mal-estar gerado por esse processo aguça o conflito entre os sexos, cuja maior expressão será a Querelle des Femmes. Isabel de Villena é uma representante ibérica desse movimento com sua obra Vita Christi.

Women became, mainly from the 13th century on, a disturbing "issue" concerning their gender. Both as they began taking a more active role in their traditional female duties as well as when they started taking upon themselves roles that were exclusively masculine, up to that time. The dissatisfaction generated by this process increased even more the conflict between sexes. A highlight of this gender conflict is the movement called "Querelle des Femmes". Isabel de Villena is a spanish representative of this movement with her book "Vita Christi".

Neste artigo pretende-se reconstruir historicamente o processo de diáspora de três congregações religiosas femininas portuguesas em decorrência da política religiosa estabelecida pela República de Portugal em 1910. Serão privilegiadas as Irmãs Franciscanas Hospitaleiras, as Irmãs Dominicanas de Santa Catarina de Sena e as Irmãs de Jesus, Maria e José, sobretudo, estas duas últimas que se estabeleceram no estado de São Paulo em 1912. Nesse período, São Paulo já havia despontado como o principal estado do Brasil e, em seus limites, as expansões cafeeira, urbana e ferroviária, envolvidas pela imigração europeia e pela industrialização, abriam novas possibilidades de atuação às mulheres, ainda que a modernização tecnológica não fosse acompanhada no campo das relações de gênero. As mulheres freiras de Portugal se juntaram às outras que aqui estavam e assumiram a gestão de asilos, escolas, faculdades e hospitais, chefiando homens e atraindo mulheres que almejavam outras perspectivas de vida para além daquelas oferecidas pela sociedade civil da época.

This article attempts to reconstruct historically the process of diaspora of three Portuguese Women's Religious congregations as a result of the new religious policy established by the Republic of Portugal in 1910: will be favored Franciscan Hospitaller Sisters of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine and the Sisters of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, especially the latter two who have settled in São Paulo in 1910. During this period, St. Paul had already emerged as the leading state in Brazil and its boundaries, the coffee expansion, urbanization, railway, surrounded by European immigration and industrialization, opened new possibilities for working women, although the technological modernization was not accompanied in the field of gender relations. Women sisters from Portugal joined the others who were here and took over the management of nursing homes, schools, colleges and hospitals, leading men and women who longed for attracting other perspectives of life beyond those offered by civil society of the time.

Este artigo discute as representações de corpo e gênero articuladas ao uso de substâncias anabolizantes nos meios de comunicação. Para isso, tomou-se como objeto o material jornalístico publicado no ano de 2010, disponível no acervo institucional da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, no Rio de Janeiro. O material analisado indicou que o imperativo do corpo forte se faz presente como o mote para o uso de anabolizantes, tanto para homens como para mulheres, e que, nesse movimento, os jornais e revistas desempenham papel significativo na disseminação de uma corporalidade hiperviril.

The present paper discusses body and gender representations in the media connected to the use of steroids. We took as our subject the content of news and magazines published in 2010, available at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation collection in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Our analysis allows us to indicate that the emphasis in the paradigm of a strong body is directed to both men and women and that news and magazines feature a significant role in the dissemination of a hypervirile corporality.

Neste artigo ocupamo-nos das relações entre doping e o corpo e a sexualidade de mulheres atletas. A partir da análise da Política de Verificação de Gênero no esporte, bem como de um episódio recente com a atleta Caster Semenya, refletimos sobre a relação que o doping tem com os discursos generificantes, mostrando que a preocupação com as mulheres atletas dopadas pressupõe uma inquietação com suas identidades sexuais e de gênero.

Taking in account the Gender Politic Analysis in Sport and the case of the runner Caster Semenya, the paper put in question doping and genders discourses, in sense of suggesting that that relation supposes an inquietude with sexual and gender identities

Este artigo, norteado pelos conceitos de gênero, masculinidades e sexualidade, analisa os discursos de editoriais da revista Men's Health.Identificamos nesses discursos marcas claras de valorização e defesa de novas formas de ser masculino e uma flagrante desvalorização do que chamamos de masculinidade tradicional. Consideramos que essas marcas revelam a necessidade de convencimento dos leitores, ou uma negociação de sentidos, para que esses homens adotem os padrões sugeridos pela revista sem o temor de colocarem em dúvida a sua heterossexualidade.

This paper, guided by the concepts of gender, masculinity and sexuality, examines the discourses from editorial magazine Men's Health. We identify these discourses clear marks of appreciation and defense of new ways of being male and a blatant devaluation of what we call traditional masculinity. We believe that these marks show the need to convince the readers, or a negotiation of meanings, for these men to adopt the standards suggested by the magazine without the fear of putting in doubt his heterosexuality.
