Este artigo teve o propósito de estudar não só as relações de gênero no âmbito do sistema de trânsito, pesquisando como a mulher motorista e o homem motorista percebem e compreendem a si mesmo e ao outro sexo, bem como o de investigar as representações sociais existentes. Participaram da pesquisa 84 motoristas, com faixa etária de 18 a 60 anos de idade, sendo 42 do sexo feminino e 42 do sexo masculino. A coleta dos dados foi realizada através de contatos com homens e mulheres em universidades, locais de trabalho e em domicílio, na cidade do Recife, por meio de uma entrevista com duas perguntas e um questionário constituído por quatro questões abertas que, posteriormente, foram reunidas e organizadas segundo os dados obtidos. Inicialmente, foram levantadas e registradas todas as respostas obtidas para cada questão, sendo que cada uma constituiu uma temática de análise. A seguir, foi realizada uma nova leitura do material. Buscava-se aquilo que era essencial em cada resposta. Verificou-se a natureza das categorias emergentes e sua freqüência em cada tema. Cabe salientar que uma resposta possuía mais de uma categoria, por isso, o número de respostas não corresponde ao número de sujeitos. Concluímos que: (a) os papéis culturais influíram na percepção que o/a motorista possui de si mesma/o e a respeito da pessoa do outro sexo; (b) observou-se, também, diferença marcante de gênero na maneira como as pessoas encaram as relações no trânsito.

This article has the aim of studing the relations of gender in the ambit of the traffic system, searching as the woman driver and the man driver perceive and understand themselves and the other sex as well as his/her own to investigate the existing social representations. 84 drivers, from 18 to 60 years old, participated in the research, 42 female sex and 42 male. The collection of the data was carried through contacts with men and women in the university, workstations and the domicile in the city of Recife by means of an interview with two questions and a questionnaire with four open questions, that later congregated and organized the data. Initially, all the answers were raised and registered; each one constituted a topic of analysis. To follow, a new reading of the material was carried through. It was searched what was essential in each reply. It was verified the nature of the emergent categories and its frequency in each subject. It should be pointed out that each reply had more than a category, therefore the number of answers does not correspond to the number of citizens. We concluded that: (a) the cultural papers had influenced the perception's drivers about themselves and the person of the other sex; (b) difference of gender was also observed in the way people face the relations in the traffic.

Este trabalho discute a hiperatividade considerando a metáfora do corpo da criança e o seu funcionamento psicológico, de forma a esclarecer se a sua expressão constitui doença ou um modo próprio de ser. O transtorno de déficit de atenção/hiperatividade (TDAH) tem sido extensivamente investigado em pesquisas que visam aprimorar os critérios diagnósticos e conhecer sua etiologia. Poucos estudos são orientados para elucidar a dimensão psíquica da criança hiperativa. A Gestalt-Terapia é uma abordagem fenomenológico-existencial assentada em teorias holísticas que reconhecem a multidimensionalidade do humano, enfocando a relação (o contato) como ontológica à existência humana.

This work argues hyperactivity considering the body metaphor and the child psychological functioning in order to understand its expression as disease or essence. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been extensively investigated in research that aim to improve diagnostics criteria and know its etiology. Few studies are oriented to elucidate the psychological dimension of the hyperactive child. Gestalt-Therapy is a phenomenological-existential approach supported on holistic theories that recognize the human multidimensionality, focalizing relation (contact) as ontological to human nature.

Este artigo é um breve relato da dissertação realizada como uma das exigências para a obtenção do título de Mestre em Saúde Pública na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). Nela, procurou-se analisar os impasses na reforma psiquiátrica brasileira. A partir da constatação de seus avanços na oferta de serviços e na legislação bem como das dificuldades encontradas pela reforma psiquiátrica para superar o hospital, a dissertação, através de cinco hipóteses, estudou a relação entre esses dois dispositivos de tratamento. Este artigo trata da quinta hipótese, que supõe uma convivência pacífica entre os dois serviços no futuro. A pesquisa demonstrou que isso não acontece, e que a resolução dos impasses citados passa pelo avanço da reforma, por decisões políticas e pelas definições construídas com a participação dos usuários e seus familiares.

This paper summarizes a dissertation which was part of the requirement for the attainment of the degree of Master in Public Health at the Medical School of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). In this investigation, the impasses in the psychiatric reform in Brazil were analysed. Based on the evidences of progress both in the offer of services and in the pertaining legislation as well as on the difficulties faced in the effort to surmount the mental hospital, five hypotheses were built to study the relationship between the two modes of treatment: the alternative service and the psychiatric hospital. This paper deals with the fifth hypothesis, which posits a peaceful coexistence of the two services in the future. The investigation demonstrated that this condition has not happened until now, and the solution for the stalemates aforementioned involves the enhancement of the reform movement, political decisions and the definitions shaped by patients and their families.

Este ensaio examina as relações entre psicodiagnóstico e psicoterapia, pressupondo que a prática da psicoterapia implica duas dimensões não coincidentes. Por um lado, é uma prática social reconhecida e regulamentada, uma dimensão pública. Por outro lado, é um certo tipo de relação entre pessoas, uma dimensão privada. O ensaio começa abordando a relação entre a prática do psicodiagnóstico e o debate teórico - sobre a doença mental e seu tratamento - que tem dominado o panorama da Psicologia e da psiquiatria no século XX. Em seguida, apresenta rapidamente a teoria dos tipos lógicos, assentando as bases das análises que se seguirão. Então, examina a prática psicodiagnóstica e psicoterápica em busca de problemas causados pela tensão entre as determinações impostas por aquelas duas dimensões. Finalmente, argumenta por um debate coletivo que permita a construção e o progressivo aperfeiçoamento dos parâmetros que devem balizar a prática do psicodiagnóstico e da psicoterapia.

This paper inquires the relations between psychodiagnostic and psychotherapy, assuming that the practice of psychotherapy implies two dimensions witch are not coincident. On one hand, it is a regulated and recognized social practice, a public dimension. On the other hand, it is a certain kind of relationship between persons, a private dimension. The paper begins broaching the relationship between the practice of psychodiagnostic and the theoretic debate - about mental illness and its treatments - which have been dominant in the landscape of Psychology and psychiatry in the XXth century. After that, it introduces the logic type theory to establish the basis of the following analysis. Then, it examines the practice of psychodiagnostics and psychotherapy, looking for the problems that can be caused by the tension between the determinations imposed by those two dimensions. Finally, it argues by a collective debate that allows the construction and the progressive improvement of the parameters that must be considered in the practice of psychodiagnostics and psychoterapy.

O processo de desinstitucionalização prioriza a atenção em saúde mental nos serviços comunitários e o trabalho terapêutico em rede social. A partir da demanda do usuário e/ou família, é possível construir, nessa prática complexa, uma rede social de apoio articulada ao processo terapêutico, incluindo cuidados religiosos, e que funcione como sistema de amparo social em situação de sofrimento. O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre essa construção e suas implicações para a clínica da atenção psicossocial. Percursos terapêuticos em diferentes países demonstram que existem, em diversos contextos culturais, pacientes que circulam entre os serviços oficiais de saúde e os cuidados religiosos. Essa situação se repete em usuários de uma clínica-escola pública brasileira onde se observa que eles parecem orientar-se por um pensamento sincrético que seria capaz de dar uma certa coerência tanto a múltiplos aspectos do sofrimento quanto à busca de diversos cuidados à saúde mental. A OMS tem adotado, nestas últimas décadas, uma postura de tendência inclusiva relativa aos serviços culturais de saúde. Esse fato reforça que é fundamental a ampliação de pesquisas sobre sistemas terapêuticos (oficial e cultural), como propõe Tobie Nathan. Numa rede de apoio, esses dois sistemas não estão em concorrência, mas em cooperação, e com a intenção de auxiliar, proteger e socorrer o usuário e/ou família que sofre. Essas interações podem estar ligadas à psicoterapia (complexa e dialógica), exigindo, assim, tanto uma atenção preventiva quanto uma certa margem de risco interativo.

In the deinstitutionalization process the priority is mental health care in community healthcare clinics and the use of the network therapeutic approach. In order to respond to patients' (and/or their families') needs, this complex practice enables the building of a social support network concomitantly with the therapeutic process, including religious care, to operate as a system of social relations that offers protection for people in suffering situations. The objective of this paper is to discuss the construction of such support network and its implications for a psychosocial clinical approach. Therapeutic itineraries in different countries evidence the existence of patients who resort to public healthcare services and religious care in various cultural contexts. This situation is reproduced in one public university clinic in Brazil where it was observed that clients are apparently guided by a logic of religious syncretism that seem to render some coherence to multiple aspects of suffering as well as to their seeking for various types of mental health care. WHO policy in the last decades has tended to admit alternative care that is culturally accepted. This reinforces the idea that it is fundamental to extend research on therapeutic systems (both official and cultural systems), as proposed by Tobie Nathan. According to the network therapeutic approach, the two systems do not compete, but cooperate to assist and protect patients (and/or their families) who suffer. These interactions could be linked to psychotherapy (complex and dialogical), thus requiring preventive care concerning potential risks posed by such interactivity.

O estudo a seguir trata do processo de qualificação de pessoas surdas para o trabalho , o qual tem-se intensificado a partir do movimento de inclusão; o foco da análise recai, no entanto, sobre questões relevantes do desenvolvimento da linguagem tendo em vista a ausência da audição e a repercussão desse fato no desenvolvimento dos processos mentais e de formação de conceitos.O objetivo é contribuir com conhecimentos do campo da Psicologia para a prática de profissionais atuantes na área de recursos humanos no desenvolvimento de competências de pessoas surdas, visando ao seu ingresso no mercado de trabalho.

The following study deals with the process of deaf people's qualification for work, which has been intensified by the inclusion movement; the focus of such analysis falls, however, upon relevant matters of language development, considering the lack of hearing and its repercussion in developing mental processes and concepts' formation. The objective is to contribute with knowledge in Psychology for the practice of professionals who work in the field of human resources in the development of deaf people's competences, aiming at their insertion in the labor market.

Com a finalidade de subsidiar propostas de promoção e de intervenção no cuidado da saúde mental dos estudantes da Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS), o presente estudo teve como objetivo verificar os índices de utilização desse serviço e caracterizar a clientela atendida em termos de variáveis demográficas e clínicas. O estudo incluiu todos os prontuários (81) do Centro de Atendimento Psicológico da UEMS no período de maio 2000 a julho de 2001. Para estimar os parâmetros, foi utilizado o método analítico descritivo. Observou-se, através dos dados, que 9,5% dos acadêmicos, sendo 88% pertencente à faixa etária entre 19 e 20 anos, em sua maioria mulheres (83%), que procuraram atendimento no serviço de saúde mental buscam ajuda por dificuldades psicológicas não psiquiátricas (44,7%) e ansiedade generalizada (38,3%). Através dos resultados, constatou-se que um serviço em saúde mental na universidade, além de identificar e de tratar distúrbios psicológicos e psiquiátricos, também pode ser usado para melhor planejamento da universidade no atendimento das necessidades de seus estudantes.

With the purpose of affording promotion and intervention proposals on mental health care of undergraduate students of the State University of South Mato Grosso (UEMS), the main objective of this study is to verify the index of the service utilization and to characterize the attendants' clients by demographic and clinical variables. The study includes all the patients files of the Psychological Counseling Center of UEMS from May 2000 to July 2001. Which is retrospective and exploratory study. The profile of the clients attended in the mental health service shows that 9.5% of the undergraduate students between 19 and 20 years old (88%), in which most are women (83%), look for psychological help because of psychological difficulties (44.7%) and generalized anxiety (38.3%). These results shows that the existence of a Mental Health Service Center at a university could, besides identifing and treating psychological and psychiatric disturbs, be used to create a better plan on the attendance of their students' necessities.

Trata-se de um estudo teórico buscando identificar as possibilidades de utilização da prática da acupuntura pelos psicólogos, haja vista a Resolução nº05/02, do Conselho Federal de Psicologia, que aponta tal técnica como um instrumento do profissional de Psicologia. O trabalho apresenta os principais conceitos que embasam a acupuntura, considerando a sua inserção na medicina tradicional chinesa e na filosofia taoísta, além de fazer uma revisão acurada dos trabalhos científicos que vêm sendo produzidos em diferentes países, oportunizando estudos que mostram a pertinência do conhecimento da acupuntura no tratamento das patologias mentais.

This work is a theoretical study searching to identify the possibilities of the use of acupuncture by psychologists, as the Resolution nº05/02 of the Federal Counsel of Psychology (Conselho Federal de Psicologia-CFP) determines that this technique is an instrument of the professional of Psychology. This study also presents the main concepts that acupuncture is based on, considering its insertion in the Chinese traditional medicine and the taoist philosophy. An accurate revision of the scientific work that has been produced in different countries, carrying out studies that show the relevance of the knowledge of acupuncture in the treatment of the available mental pathologies is also presented.

Este estudo visa ampliar o conhecimento a respeito da fundamentação teórica das proposições do analista austríaco Wilhelm Reich. Investiga-se a noção de caráter presente em trabalhos reichianos da década de 1920 e início dos anos 1930. Foi sobretudo nessa época que o autor, então engajado no movimento psicanalítico, desenvolveu a conceituação de caráter e organizou a sua primeira técnica terapêutica, a análise do caráter. Em termos mais específicos, esta pesquisa busca: a) mostrar a vinculação entre as idéias reichianas de caráter com determinadas orientações presentes em escritos freudianos; b) contribuir para o esclarecimento da noção de caráter contida em textos reichianos publicados originalmente no período de 1922 a 1933. Dentre os pontos levantados nas abordagens de Freud e Reich, pode-se destacar a importância de se investigar o caráter como fonte de resistência. Já particularmente no domínio reichiano, merece relevo a aproximação efetuada pelo autor entre caráter e forma do comportamento.

This article intends to extend the understanding of the theoretical foundations of the propositions made by the Austrian analyst Wilhelm Reich. It examines the notion of character as it appears in reichian work in the 1920's and in the beginning of the 1930's. It was mainly during this period of time that the author, then engaged with the psychoanalytical movement, developed the concept of character and organized his first therapeutic method: the character analysis. In more specific therms, this research aims: a) to present the connection between reichian reflections on character and certain approaches that appear in freudian writings; b) to contribute to the explanation of the notion of character as it is used in reichian texts published originally from 1922 to 1933. Among the subjects arising out of the study of Freud's and Reich's ideas on character, it can be emphasized the importance of investigating the character as a source of resistance. On the reichian particular ground, it ought to be pointed out the interrelation made by the author between character and ways of behavior.

Este artigo busca colocar em pauta para debate o valor metodológico que pode ter a hermenêutica, enquanto instrumento epistemológico, quando aplicada à área de Psicologia escolar e a utilidade da técnica de observação participante no contexto de uma metodologia qualitativa de pesquisa, realizada na escola pública. Para a análise das informações contidas no diário de campo e nas entrevistas, utilizamos a análise de conteúdo para lograr uma leitura que venha a realçar o aspecto multidimensional das dificuldades de aprendizagem, as características da comunicação e dos comportamentos dos alunos, professoras, psicólogas e do próprio pesquisador. Na fase de interpretação das categorias, procura-se captar o sentido da experiência do encontro com o outro e a atuação do psicólogo no campo da saúde coletiva, utilizando como base a compreensão existencial.

This article tries to bring out for debate the methodological value that hermeneutic can have as an epistemological instrument when applied in the area of school Psychology and the usefulness of the participant observation technique in the context of a qualitative methodology of research accomplished in the public school. For the analysis of the information contained in the daily report book and in the interviews, it was used the content analysis to achieve a sight that comes to enhance the multidimensional aspect of the learning difficulties, the characteristics of the communication and of the students, teachers, psychologists and the own researchers behavior. In the stage of the categories interpretation, it tries to bring up the sense of experience from the contact with others and the psychologist's performance in the collective health field, using the existential understanding as base.

Este depoimento representa mais uma lição de vida que um estudo teórico. Os três anos de trabalho voluntário na Associação dos Portadores de Epilepsia de Minas Gerais me permitiram conhecer e assistir a alguns portadores e ex-portadores de epilepsia e suas histórias, permeadas pelo sofrimento e pela esperança. Hoje, sabe-se que a epilepsia ainda não possui uma definição satisfatória que nomeie a sua etiologia. Considerada como sintoma, ela apresenta um amplo e complexo quadro de crises. O sofrimento desse sujeito revela formas de subjetivação alicerçadas na impotência. Tal sentimento revela um pedido de acolhimento e respeito por parte da sociedade.

This paper is related to a life experience and not only a theorical study. During three years of work as a voluntier at the Associação dos Epilépticos de Minas Gerais (Epilepsy Association of MG) I was allowed to meet some patients and ex-patients and to know their stories and hopes. Up to now, epilepsy does not have a satisfatory etiology. Considered as a symptom, it is very complex and causes crises and attacks. This suffering revels subjectivation that implies pain and fellings of impotence that should be respected by the whole society.
