Partindo do conjunto de noções gramaticais encontradas na obra de Lacan (como o uso dos tempos verbais e da negação), o autor procura situar as relações que aí se colocam entre a linguagem e a estrutura do inconsciente. Percorrendo os antecedentes teóricos da reflexão lingüística lacaniana, os resultados indicam uma dupla tentativa, por parte de Lacan: primeiramente, de aproximar certas particularidades entre os conceitos de inconsciente e de língua, em que o funcionamento da segunda revela aspectos importantes para a apreensão do primeiro, e, posteriormente, de distanciar os conceitos consagrados do terreno lingüístico daqueles que ele mesmo propõe para ocupar esse lugar.

Starting off based on some grammar notions found very often in the works of Jacques Lacan (like negation's and verbal tenses' usage), the author brings up the relationship between the language and the unconscious' structure. Revisiting the theoretical antecedents of the Lacanian reflection, this text points to the double facet of Lacan's aim: on the one hand, he binds close together some particularities between the concepts of unconscious and language, whose operations reveal important issues concerning the former, and, on the other hand, he tries to avoid the traditional linguistic perception of those concepts, claiming to have them replaced by his own re-creations.

Indaga tanto as produções de memórias pessoais, quanto as atribuições de responsabilidade nas organizações sociais totalitárias. Indaga, também, a imbricação entre representação individual e coletiva e a particularidade que assumem as memórias da infância nessa questão.

This article develops the issue of diagnosis in psychoanalysis based on research work done on this subject. After dealing with the very conception of research in psychoanalysis, we settle the concept of structure, as formulated by Lacan, in the core of the discussion. Finally, we present a clinical case formulated in order to situate better the relation between phenomenon and structure.

O trabalho faz um breve percurso pela teoria freudiana do luto e procura demonstrar, através de um fragmento clínico, que o destino de um luto pode ser diferente da proposta freudiana: ou a elaboração, ou a queda na melancolia. Procura enfatizar a grande dificuldade do processo de perda e valorizar outras formações de compromissos possíveis de se instalarem diante de um luto não muito bem elaborado.

This paper briefly follows the Freudian theory of mourning. Using part of a clinical case, an attempt is made to demonstrate that the vicissitudes of mourning may differ from those proposed by Freud, namely, either 'working through' it or collapsing into melancholy. Emphasis is made on the great difficulty involved in the mourning process, as well as on the value of other possible symptom formations in the event of mourning not being well worked through.

A teoria da sedução foi a primeira proposta sistemática de Freud para dar conta de um excedente de excitação que faz uma exigência de tradução ao sujeito humano, constituindo, ao mesmo tempo, o seu aparelho psíquico. Baseando-se na teoria da sedução generalizada, de Laplanche, o texto explora as relações entre as noções de sedução e de tradução e suas conseqüências na situação analítica.

The theory of seduction was Freud's systematic proposal to explain how excessive excitement requires a translation by the human subject, which at the same time constitutes the latter's psychic apparatus. The text explores the relationships between the notions of seduction and translation and their influence on the analytic situation, based on Laplanche's theory of generalized seduction.

Esse artigo pretende problematizar o conceito de pulsão de morte em Freud a partir de duas vertentes: de um lado, sinalizando seu aspecto mortificante e conservador. De outro, apontando possibilidades criativas impulsionadas pelas pulsões de morte no campo da clínica da psicanálise, como por exemplo, através do trabalho da sublimação.

This paper examines Basque nationalism and ETA activities from the point of view of psychoanalysis. ETA is a separatist group formed in 1959 that has become known for its terrorist acts over the last two decades. Taking the avatars of the nationalist discourse developed in the Basque Country, the paper attempts to decipher a "mode of production" of hate and its effects.

Este trabalho aponta questões que consideramos fundamentais para a constituição de instituições psicanalíticas mais democráticas e fraternas, capazes de sustentar a vocação crítica da psicanálise e sua marca de subversão em prol da humanidade. Refletimos sobre suas marcas históricas e seus desdobramentos políticos, destacando que não se trata mais de colocar a instituição como um mal necessário para a formação e transmissão da psicanálise. É necessário, ao contrário, vê-la como uma das possíveis escolhas para pensar o homem e suas circunstâncias na contemporaneidade. O que, por sua vez, implica em responsabilidades indelegáveis de cada um que se reconhece como psicanalista e quer pertencer à pólis psicanalítica.

This paper points to questions considered fundamental for the constitution of more democratic and fraternal psychoanalytical institutions. These should be capable of preserving the critical vocation of psychoanalysis as well as its subversive character on behalf of humanity. The author reflects on the historical marks and political developments of the psychoanalytical institution, emphasizing that it should no longer be seen as a necessary evil for training psychoanalysts and transmitting psychoanalysis. Rather, it should be considered as one of several possible alternatives for thinking about man and his contemporary circumstances. This in turn implies non-delegable responsibilities that must be acknowledged by all psychoanalysts who wish to belong to the psychoanalytical polis.
