Abstract A sustainability-oriented logic is required in order to change the consumerist logic of the society. This is possible by changing the beliefs and values shared among stakeholders regarding their behaviors. The institutional logic of sustainability (ILS) concept emerges in response to this need. In the context of the sharing economy, this research aims to understand the formation of ILS with the implementation of shared bikes in the city of Fortaleza-CE. Therefore, an in-depth case study was developed with actors that developed the Bicicletar project. The results demonstrate that: (a) several events happened to enable the insertion of the project; (b) city hall played a prominent role as a stimulator of change; (c) the city's mobility structure has been modified; and (d) sustainability practices are observed in all dimensions, with an emphasis on the environmental one. With this discussion, we contribute to the understanding of how sustainability can be practiced in other contexts. There is also the contribution of theoretical elements that facilitate understanding of the sustainability concept.

Abstract Key challenges of how citizens can be motivated to participate in citizen-sourcing initiatives remain unaddressed. In this paper, we identified the influence of eight motivation variables in the number of participations in Hackathons, a citizen-sourcing initiative, in Brazil. We adapt different models from Self-Determination Theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior with recent studies of crowdsourcing and open software initiatives. To validate the survey, we conducted a confirmatory factorial analysis, using Structural Equation Modelling. Tests with 308 questionnaires confirm the reliability and validity of the survey as well as the model's overall quality. This research shows evidence that supports that recognition, learning, financial rewards and fun influence attitude towards participation in Hackathons. We present theoretical and managerial implications to scholars and public agents interested in engaging citizens in solving public problems.

Abstract This paper discusses a set of sustainability indicators applied to Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEINS) to serve as a tool for measuring and disclosing sustainability practices and actions. Methodologically, a qualitative study was carried out with data collected via triangulation (semi-structured interviews, documentary research, and observations) and submitted to content analysis. As a result, it proposes the creation of an academic category consisting of four subcategories - institutional, university management, financial, and social and environmental responsibility. This category and its subcategories include a set of sustainability indicators that enable the measurement and disclosure of the sustainability practices and actions of HEINS using a mixed-method design (quantitative and qualitative) and complementary evaluation strategies. From a managerial standpoint, research results provide the management of HEINS with tools to assess institutional performance quantitatively and qualitatively based on multiple evaluation criteria. Regarding the social aspect, this set of indicators provides society with means to assess the sustainability practices and actions of HEINS, as well as their economic, social, environmental, and academic implications. The proposal of such indicators is unique in the Brazilian context and it can potentially introduce practices for measurement and disclosure of sustainability practices and actions of HEINS.

Abstract This research evaluates the perception of members regarding the value-creation actions offered by a cooperative and whether the characteristics of the member and cooperative affected this perception. A model to measure the perception of the value co-creation activities provided by the cooperative and member characteristics was created. The adopted methodology was a questionnaire and the Partial Least Square method. Value co-creation, professionalization of management, satisfaction and loyalty, and long-term time orientation of the member were measured based on the member's perception. The results demonstrate a significant association between satisfaction and loyalty and perception of value co-creation and a positive association between the long-term time horizon and the perception of value co-creation actions. In other words, perception of the benefits generated by the actions of the cooperative can be influenced by time orientation and level of satisfaction and loyalty. The main contribution is the creation of an instrument that measures the level of perception of value co-creation actions.
