Resumo: A dinâmica da interação dos diversos níveis do sistema produtivo é objeto de estudo de muitos grupos de pesquisas que buscam um melhor entendimento da natureza complexa de tais sistemas para propor soluções eficazes e eficientes, ou seja, do uso racional dos recursos disponíveis e insumos necessários. A demanda de produtos cada vez mais customizados por um mercado dinâmico e competitivo tem reduzido consideravelmente o ciclo de vida de tais produtos e a questão da flexibilidade dos processos produtivos tornou-se fundamental para as empresas. A flexibilidade não é único atributo, mas sim um conjunto de atributos que tornam o sistema produtivo flexível e, muitas vezes, a interação entre os sub-sistemas flexíveis são fontes de desperdícios e retrabalhos, gerando altos custos no processo produtivo. Neste sentido, o conceito de Lean Manufacturing tem promovido uma reestruturação de alguns processos do sistema MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), responsável por gerenciar as atividades da produção, integrar os dados do sistema ERP (Entreprise Resource Planning) e sincronizar as tarefas de produção com o fluxo de materiais, tornando-os orientados à demanda. Outro aspecto importante no contexto industrial é a nova visão de futuro promovida pelo paradigma de Indústria 4.0 em que é vislumbrada uma completa descentralização do controle do sistema produtivo, mediante dispositivos autônomos e inteligentes, interconectados por um sistema de comunicação, que colaboram para o objetivo fim do empreendimento. A norma ANSI/ISA S95 apresenta um modelo conceitual que pode viabilizar o paradigma da Indústria 4.0. Desta forma, o objetivo do presente trabalho é apresentar uma proposta de modelagem dos objetos no nível 3 da norma S95 utilizando as redes de Petri interpretadas.

Abstract: The dynamics of the interaction between different levels in production system is the study of many research groups to seek a better understanding of the complex nature of such systems to propose an effective and efficiency from rational use of available resources and required inputs. Demand for products increasingly customized by a dynamic and competitive market has reduced considerably the life cycle of such products and flexibility of production processes has become essential for companies. Flexibility is not only one attribute, but a set of attributes that provides the flexibility for production systems. The interactions between the flexible sub-systems are sources of waste and rework, causing high costs in the production process. In this sense, the concept of Lean Manufacturing has promoted a restructuring of some processes of the MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), responsible for managing the activities of production, integrate data from the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and synchronize production tasks the flow of materials, making them oriented by the demand. One other important aspect in the industrial context is the new future vision promoted by Industry 4.0 paradigm that is envisioned a complete decentralization of control of the production system by autonomous and intelligent devices interconnected by a communication system, that contribute to the global goals of the enterprise. The ANSI/ISA S95 presents a conceptual model that may contribute to the implementation of the industry 4.0 concept. The objective of this study is to present a proposal for modeling of objects in level 3 of the S95 standard using interpreted Petri nets.

Metals solidification involves the transformation of the molten metal back into the solid state. Solidification structures impact heavily on the final product's characteristics. The microstructure effects on metallic alloys properties have been highlighted in various studies and particularly the dendrite arm spacing influence upon the mechanical properties such as tensile strength has been reported. In the present investigation, Al-10wt%Si-2wt%Cu and Al-10wt%Si-5wt%Cu alloys were directionally solidified upward under transient heat flow conditions. The experimental results include solidification thermal parameters such as tip growth rate and cooling rate, optical microscopy, volume fraction of the eutectic mixture, primary dendritic arm spacing and ultimate tensile strength. Experimental growth laws of primary dendrite arm spacing as a function of the solidification thermal parameters are proposed. The Hall-Petch mathematical expressions were used to correlate the ultimate tensile strength as a function of the primary dendritic arm spacing. It was found that the alloy with higher copper content had a more refined structure. More refined structures had higher ultimate tensile strength values.

RESUMO As condições operacionais impostas nos processos de fundição geram, como consequência direta, uma diversidade de estruturas de solidificação. Em geral, as propriedades mecânicas mostram-se fortemente dependentes da morfologia estrutural e da composição química. Um aço de baixo carbono foi utilizado para promover fluxo de calor unidirecional durante a solidificação e obter o arranjo da microestrutura. O objetivo deste trabalho é pesquisar a influência das variáveis térmicas de solidificação na microestrutura da liga Al-10%Si-2%Cu e na sua resistência mecânica. Resultados experimentais incluem os espaçamentos dendríticos primários (EDP), velocidade de deslocamento da isoterma liquidus (VL), taxa de resfriamento (TR) e limites de resistência à tração (LRT) e de escoamento (LE). Estruturas dendríticas mais grosseiras tendem a diminuir a resistência à tração e ao escoamento na liga em estudo.

ABSTRACT The imposition of a wide range of operational conditions in foundry and castings process generates, as a direct consequence, a diversity of solidification structures. The mechanical properties show to depend strongly on the structural morphology and chemical composition. A low carbon steel mold was used to promote a unidirectional heat flow during solidification and to obtain the arrangement of the microstructure. The aim of the present article is to investigate the effect of thermal solidification variables on the microstructure of the Al-10wt.%Si-2wt.%Cu alloy and its mechanical strength. Experimental results include primary dendrite arm spacings (EDP), tip growth rate (VL), cooling rate (TR) and tensile (LRT) and yield (LE) strength limits. A coarser dendritic structure tends to improve the tensile strength and the yield tensile strength in the studied alloy.

O sistema flexível de manufatura (FMS flexible manufacturing system) executa múltiplos processos simultaneamente que utilizam um conjunto limitado de recursos. Estes processos podem ficar permanentemente bloqueados em função da seqüência de atividades, isto é, o compartilhamento de um conjunto finito de recursos pode levar o sistema a um estado de autotravamento. O FMS pode ser visto como pertencente a uma classe de sistema a eventos discretos, onde não é possível determinar quando um evento ocorre e com isto a seqüência de eventos fica indefinida. Este tipo de sistema pode ser modelado através de rede de Petri e assim explora-se esta técnica para desenvolver uma solução para o problema de auto-travamento considerando o indeterminismo do FMS. O objetivo é introduzir uma abordagem algorítmica para a implementação de uma ferramenta computacional baseada na especificação funcional do FMS e que automatize a geração de uma estratégia de controle para a utilização de recursos e de regras para evitar o autotravamento.

The flexible manufacturing system (FMS) executes multiple processes simultaneously using a limited set of resources. These processes can be blocked permanently due to the sequence of the activities, i.e., the processes sharing a finite set of resources may eventually lead to a deadlock state. The FMS belongs to the class of discrete event systems where it is not possible to determine when an event will occur and the sequence of events becomes undefined. Such systems can be modeled using Petri net, and this work presents a method that solves the deadlock problem considering the indeterminism of FMSs. The goal of this work is to introduce an algorithmic approach, which allows the implementation of a computer program based on FMS functional specification. The proposal is to automate the generation of the control strategy for resource utilization and the rules to avoid the deadlock situation.
