    Summary

    The present work represents a continuation of a series of studies of the wood of the Amazon region, in relation to pulp and paper applications. Twenty species were studied with respect to structural characteristics: the length, total diameter, thickness of the wall of the fibers and Runkel's relation of the wood. Based on the results, seventeen of the species studied are good for making paper.
