Open-access Tinea pedis na cidade de Manaus - AM, Brasil

    From 1981 through 1985, 96 patients diagnosed as having "Athlete's foot", were submitted to mycological examination at Tropical Dermatology and Venereology "Alfredo da Matta" Institute and Medical Post at INPA in the city of Manaus-AM. Foost segments more affected were the sole (42,0%) an the interdigital spaces (26,0%). 99 fungous were isolated: 74% keratinophilics and 26% yeasts. From 9 species, cultived, more frequents were: Trichophyton rubrum (35,5%), Trichophyton mentagrophytes(25,0%) and Candida sp. (25,0%).
