Studies show that taro and tannia can be rapidly propagated vegetatively with the use of central rhizome cutting. The dormant bud in dice of rhizome cutting developed into a shoot and produced roots. Thi rhizomes were cutt in four, eight and twelve developed into a shoot and produced roots. The number of new plants derived from diced rhizomes cuttings increased in linear form with increment of rhizomes division number. This propagation techique is many times more rapid and efficient than the conventional field multiplication method.
