We report on 31 species of holostipous Lejeuneaceae belonging to the subfamily Ptychathoideae and the subfamily Lejeuneoideae, tribes Brachiolejeuneeae and Lejeuneeae, of which eight are newly reported for Bahia, Brazil. Descriptions and illustrations are given only for those species with scanty illustration in the literature or none at all, reported for the first time for Bahia. Geographic distribution, ecosystems, and substrate are given for all species.
