Stifftia is a South-American genus, with species occurring in Brazil and French Guiana (only one species) totaling eight taxa recognized at the moment. In Brazil, the genus is present from Pará and Amapá to Paraná, mainly at forest edges. The present work suggests new synonyms for Stifftia chrysantha J.C.Mikan and Stifftia parviflora (Leandro) D.Don.
