This paper presents the landscape design conceived for the campus of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences UNESP, Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil, including the garden project for surroundings of the Main Classroom Building. The project was based on a Development Master Plan, therefore, it is compromised with vegetation, buildings and circulation system already established. The main purposes of the project were aimed to soil conservation, to the selection of suitable trees as well as to the establishment of gardens around the main building. The design was simple, since it had to consider the large landscape area and the small labor force available. Vegetation was composed of trees, shrubs and lawns selected by their local adaptation, resistance to climatic conditions, and availability in the campus nurseries. Always when possible, native species were utilized
