Papers of quality and speed in publication
To maintain the quality of a scientific publication, an excellent peer-review team is required in order to evaluate the articles submitted to the journal. For the scientific journal to become or remain a desirable vehicle for publication in any given branch of science, agility is required in the editorial process from review to publication. The team of reviewers at the Anais Brasileiros de Dermatology has fully corresponded to our expectations; however the time between submission and publication remains far from ideal. Solutions must be found to make the process faster and the journal more attractive, since authors give preference to the journals that publish their papers in the shortest possible time.
The current edition of the journal contains a greater number of excellent clinical cases than usual, in addition to review articles of great interest on adipose-derived stem cells, drug-resistant fungal infection and lichen planus. The increase from one edition to the next in the number of high quality research articles on a variety of subjects is remarkable.
We would also like to call attention to the excellent articles on imaging in this edition, particularly the cover article on hyphomycosis and, as always, an excellent continued medical education paper on adverse reactions to chemotherapeutic agents.
We hope you will enjoy this edition of the Anais Brasileiros de Dermatology.
