Variation of G and M immunoglobulins, total protein and eletrophoretic fractions and activity of gama glutamyltransferase in Holstein cow blood sera before and after parturition

In an attempt to determine proteinogram and gamma glutamyltransferase (GGT) dynamics from cows before and after parturition, 26 Holstein cows were studied from prepartum to 180 days postpartum. At parturition cows showed lower seric protein concentration, albumin and beta globulin, and G and M immunoglobulin than during gestation period and after parturition. From nine to 180 days after parturition it was observed an incerase of these constituents. The gestation and pre and postpartum did not influence the activity of gamma-glutamyltransferase.
