Mineral nutrition of tropical legumes VII: absorption of micronutrients by Clitoria ternatea L.

The tropical legume buterfly pea is a very framising legume for Brazil specially in the northeast regions. In order to obtain the concentration and extractions of micronutrients a field trial was executed in a soil called Latossolo Vermelho Escuro (Orthox) and plants were sampled every 15 days when the plants were 41 days old. The plants were divided into leaves, stems, flowers and pods. The experimental design was a complete randomized experiment with from replications. At 146 days, the plant presents the following concentrations of the elements in the leaves: B - 23 ppm; Cu - 11 ppm; Fe -316 ppm; Mn - 47 ppm and Zn - 31 ppm. At the same age the plant presents the following amounts of the elements: B - 580 mg; Cu - 101 mg; Fe - 5384 mg; Mn - 960 mg and Zn - 451 mg.
