METAPHOR AND SIGNIFICANCE: THE CONSTRUCTION OF MEANINGS IN ANALYSIS

Abstract:

This article describes two types of interventions in the analytical context: the comparative metaphorical, whose reference for the production of sense is the meaning; and the creative metaphorical, production of sense by significant. As a basis for such development, there is the figure of metaphor and its theories in the field of linguistics and rhetoric, plus the psychoanalytic theory of metaphor developed by Lacan. We conclude the alternatives of intervention developed here, although they do not exhaust other forms, can contribute to the development of a theory of psychoanalytic technique.

Keywords:
psychoanalytic technique; metaphor; Lacan
