ABSTRACT
This study describes the methodology used for evaluating the efficacy of the control strategies of the lesser mealworm population (Alphitobius diaperinus) Panzer in poultry houses. The technique is based on the sampling of litter at 14 points, the counting of adults, and comparison of the insects before and after application of the control strategy. It can be used to evaluate the population throughout the poultry house or at each point sampled. It also allows for the assessment of chicken-food waste and migration of insects.
