EDITORAL

Issue 4, volume 23 of "Acta Limnologica Brasiliensia" Journal comprises ten articles developed in different geographical regions, addressing different aquatic environments and communities. This has been the standard of our periodical, which proves the diversification of the limnologic topics published. This issue comprises one research addressing the organic matter dissolved in a floodplain, two works on the macro-invertebrate community, two articles on zooplanktons in fish-farming systems, two studies about aquatic macrophytes, one work addressing trichopterans, one research on oligochaetes and one about a phytoplankton community. The study sites are also diverse and include works in Argentina, the State of Paraiba, in a reservoir in the State of Santa Catarina, among other locations - besides the experimental studies. I reckon that "Acta Limnologica Brasiliensia" continues to fulfill its goal of disseminating limnologic knowledge, which is its main role. It may seem remote, but our Association’s journal has been contributing effectively to sustainability. Surely more than the Rio+20 conference, where several documents were produced, heads of state gathered, NGOs protested and information appeared more often on the media. Scientific knowledge, which is the basis for discussions and decisions, must continue to be improved. Thus, "Acta Limnologica Brasiliensia" keeps on providing its service disseminating scientific knowledge, so that we can move toward sustainability.
