Abstract
In this article, I explore authorial fiction in Budapest (2003) by Chico Buarque, through a mirror procedure that resends the insistence of this element that is given in contemporary Brazilian literature. The notion of authorial fiction displaces that of writer fiction to question the status or, even, the relevance of an author figure in contemporary literature. In this regard, Budapest’s authorial fiction is conceived as a contact form through the writing mirror of diverse cultural and artistic practices.
