Commissioner Croce: the form of the detective novel by Ricardo Piglia

Abstract:

Crime fiction is a genre that has a long tradition in Argentina. This tradition not only has its own peculiarities but it also exhibits transgressions and self-serving uses. Ricardo Piglia is deeply rooted in this tradition with a skewed look. Commissioner Croce is the latest alter ego that the writer invented to make effective his proposals for a literature linked to ethics.
