Abstract
The purpose of the present article is to analyse the field of poetry criticism in Spain in relation to the reception of Antonio Gamoneda's work, especially after the publication of his Descripción de la mentirain 1977. This paper focuses on the exegetic labour performed by Miguel Casado since 1987 (year of publication of Gamoneda’s Edad), when he started to critique the methodologies of the dominant criticism in Spain. Based on the relation between criticism and literature, this paper proposes the formulation of a critique of criticism that moves away from lineal and progressive postulates and views the history of literature from the departing notion ofhistory in a mesh.
