Paul Celan's Poetry of Negativity

Abstract

This article intends to understand Paul Celan's poetry as a “poetry of negativity”, prioritizing its negative aspect that does not allow the appeasement or synthesis of violence in his work. We thus hope to highlight the mortuary constellation present in Celan’s poetry as an instant that reveals the inherent tension of the poetic that comes into contact with the ruined body.
