SOCIAL HISTORY OF WORK FROM A GENDER PERSPECTIVE IN ARGENTINA: A LOOK THROUGH THE FIRST TWO VOLUMES OF THE NEW HISTORY OF WOMEN IN ARGENTINA (D’ANTONIO AND PITA, DIR. 2023 AND 2024)

This article intends to focus on those chapters of the first two volumes of the New History of Women in Argentina (Pita and D’Antonio, 2023) that are focused on work experiences and that frame current discussions about free and non-free work, hierarchies based on gender, the way in which different traces of inequality are intertwined in work spaces, among others. The focus will be set on the debates they raise, the sources they analyze and the questions they have been asked. In doing so, it proposes to show how the gender perspective has been a source of historiographical renewal within studies on work in Argentina.
