A case of anastomosis of the internal carotid artery due to persistency of the trigeminal artery is reported. Angiographic studies disclosed the communication. The patient was mentally deficient and had suddenly developed hemiplegia. In addition cerebral cortical atrophy on the side of the anomaly was demonstrated by pneumoencephalography.
