Artério e arteriolosclerose sem hipertensão arterial: Estudo de um caso com hemiplegia, afasia, retinopatia arterios-clerótica e angiosclerose cardio muscular em indivíduo de 32 anos

The authors report a case of a negro and obese young man, 32 years old, with arterio and arteriolosclerosis, without arterial hypertension. The patient had right hemiparesis, left amaurosis due to arteriosclerosis of the retineal vessels, and total auriculoventricular block. The biopsy of the pectoralis muscle showed arteriolosclerosis. The renal tests were normal. The authors comment the possibility that arteriolosclerosis can appear in the absence of arterial hypertension.
