A new test for diagnosis and control of treatment of the different types of aphasia, specially adapted for the Portuguese language, is presented and described in detail. The test, which will be useful to clinicians and psychologists interested in the treatment and rehabilitation of aphasic patients, requires about 30 minutes to administer, is quickly interpreted and furnishes the necessary elements for planning the speech reeducation. Besides, the test may be repeated from time to time to check on the progress attained and to suggest changes of the program of treatment.
