MRI of trigeminal zoster

RNM do zoster trigeminal

A 73 year-old man with remote history of zoster ophthalmicus developed painful vesicular rash inside his mouth after a stressful dental procedure for implants. The rash spread to involve the left side of his face, and he developed severe left-sided stabbing facial pain. On MRI, there was abnormal hyperintense T2 signal (Figure) along the expected course of the nucleus of the spinal tract of the trigeminal nerve1Brazis PW, Maseu JC, Biller J.
