ABSTRACT

Anita Malfatti’s production made during her stay in United States scandalized the Brazilian cultural milieu in 1917, although it was in complete harmony with the experimentation proposed by the avant-garde of the beginning of the century – already sedimented and suitable for being taught at the Independent School of Art, under the direction of Homer Boss.
