Educational success of graduation graduates: a possibility of measurement and explanation

This study aims to characterize educational success (SE), from normative indexes (general academic performance coefficient (CRA), student's disapprovals / approvals and course completion time), as well as from application of statistical tests between the indexes of normative educational success and the structural dimensions of explanation of this phenomenon, to present a possibility of explanation of the same. The methodological strategy used was Survey-type studies carried out with graduates of undergraduate courses at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB). The questionnaire was applied to the graduates of the semester 2014.2, by electronic means, which generated a sample of 174 valid cases. The quantitative data were processed using SPSS statistical analysis software, analyzed and presented through descriptive and analytical statistics. There was a high percentage of registrations of disapprovals in the academic trajectory (55%) in the first two years of the courses. In the studied group, the possibilities for educational success (i.e., higher CRA and absence of reprobations) are related to the following structural variables: higher general grades in the ENEM, lower egress age and not having worked during graduation.
