Language and cultural translation: some thoughts from the point of view of Ticuna universe

This article follows the current formal developments of chomskyan grammar which takes into consideration the cognitive systems with which language interfaces. Based on Ticuna universe and on its expression through Ticuna language, it aims to show that some grammar domains can interface with encyclopedia knowledge, viewed as extra-linguistic knowledge. It shows new horizons to the study of the relation between culture and language and it relates the analysis to the field of sense production. In its way to conclusion, it suggests that the study of special meanings related to specific linguistic expressions is a good way to understand or try to understand the issues related to translation and interpretation.
