This article is an expanded version of previous phonological studies of the Arara language (Carib). The phonemic segments are presented in the light of discussions fostered by a greater volume of data and morphophonological interactions. Assimilation is the main phonological process found in the language. Some phenomena that have not yet been described for this specific dialect, such as ablaut and elision, are presented. The data comes from fieldwork conducted among the Arara people, whose dialect is spoken in the village of Cachoeira Seca do Iriri, state of Pará, Brazil.
