This article presents the results of the study on three Tupian languages: Asuriní do Xingu, Wayampí and Mundurukú. The purpose is to examine the major differences in the phonetic realizations of similar distinctive units, in particular consonants. The segments analyzed were the stop consonants /p, t, k, Ɂ/, the nasals /m, n/, and the tap /ɾ/. It was found that while these segments are phonologically similar, each language implements its consonants in a particular way.
