### How many seconds are in a day?

Can you picture how many seconds are in a day? One day equals 86,400 seconds. Here is a link to a clock that has a dot for every second in the day. You can watch them change color one by one. Unless, of course, you can think a better way to use your gift of life.

### Life is a gift.

We all receive this gift equally, second by second, day after day, until we die. Use this gift wisely.

That's a very strange web page. I wasted several seconds viewing it. It did give me some insight, however. Thanks for posting it.

60 times 60= 3600 = 3600 times 24 = 14400+ 7200= 86400

#of seconds in day=24x(60*2)

By the way, the answer you get when you multiply 6 by 9 is not 42, it is 54. (???)

Nik the Great, I have to correct your math.

There are 60 seconds in a minute. And 60 minutes in an hour. And 24 hours in a day. 60x60x24=86,400 seconds in a day.

Calculating your way, you get only 2880 seconds in a day, which is incorrect.

You are right that 6x9=54, not 42. But when I look back over this thread, I don't see where anyone multiplied 6x9 or got the answer wrong.

But whenever I see the number 42 anywhere, without context, I immediately think about Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

Don't know why?

I think their is a lot of sec in a day. Like who would know that only if you take your time to do the math then maybe you will always know how many sec are in a day.

this is a message, i believe, meant mostly for those who believe we are mortal, which i do not believe.
