Expanding activities - improving quality

EDITORIAL NOTE

Expanding activities – improving quality

The Brazilian Journal of Biology is expanding its activities and the range of services offered to the scientific community of the Americas. First, the BJB is calling for review papers on topics of general and specialized interest in Neotropical Biology. These topics initially include: terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity, ecology, genetics, and evolution.

To improve quality and expand capacity of analysis, the BJB is inviting a new group of senior scientists to collaborate with the advisory board. It is also enlarging the range of expertise and the geographical distribution represented by the editorial board.

A section on comments and opinions will be added, beginning from the next number in November. In addition, the BJB is starting a project to receive and analyze all papers electronically. A complete Editorial Policy Paper of the BJB will be published in the November issue.
