Educational Probation: a meaning tool on the way to the selection of social subjects

Abstract

This text discusses the ways in which the evaluation of speech participates in the process of formation for students and mathematics teachers, as subjects of an evaluation practice. The production of subjects was questioned and analyzed in a Foucault perspective, applied to the issue involving relations, evaluation and teaching practice, students and teachers of Mathematics, which handle the meaning as micropenalty tool on the way to the selection of students in school: educational probation. In accordance with the theories of Michel Foucault, it was possible to think of other representations that an evaluative practice produced in a neoliberal rationality can move to monitor, classify, and prioritize the production of individuals and subjects in and out of school.
