Absorption of nutrientes by rice crops

The test, as described in this paper, was carried out in the greenhouse and in Mitscherlich pots with the purpose of determining the processus of absorption of the essential nutrients by the rice crop (Oryza sativa L.) Every ten days plants were collected in order to be analysed for their contents in N, P, K, Ca and Mg. For the production of 4,300 kg of seeds in husks and 39,350 kg of straw and roots by hectare, the following amounts of nutrients were absorbed: 115 kg of N, 18.5 kg of P, 142 kg of K, 35 kg of Ca and 36 kg of Mg. Through the study of the data, it was observed that nitrogen and potassium are absorbed in their totality until the plant reaches 110 days after the germination. Phosphorus, calcium and magnesium were required by the crop from the beginning up to the end of the cycle.
