In October 1996, at Bebedouro county, State of São Paulo, Brazil, some plants of "sansão-do-campo"(Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth.) used as windbreak, were found infested by the rofous scale, Selenaspidus articulatus Morgan, 1889. This observation suggests that windbreaks can influence the incidence of insect pests in the citrus groves.
