Fertilizantes fosfatados na culutura da cana-de-açúcar em terra-roxa-misturada

A comparison of phosphate fertilizers for the sugar cane

R. Alvarez; A. L. Segalla; H. Vaz de Arruda

SUMMARY

Five different phosphate fertilizers (superphosphate, "fertifós", degelatinated bone meal, hyperphosphate, and a local rock phosphate - Morro do Serrote) were compared for the sugar cane at four levels (none, 40, 80, and 120 kg of P2O5- per hectare) on a glacial soil commonly designated as "terra-roxa-misturada".

Phosphate application was significantly better than no phosphate, but the three phosphate rates gave results that did not differ statistically, this fact being an indication that 40 kg of P2O5 per hectare fulfilled the phosphorus needs of the sugar cane plant on that type of soil.

Plots that received superphosphate gave the highest average yields (77.3 ton/ha), followed by fertifós (70.7 ton/ha) and degelatinated bone meal (70.6 ton/ha); hyperphosphate (68.0 ton/ha) and the natural rock phosphate (61.6) were last. These differences, however, were not statistically significant.
