BIORREGULADORES NA MORFOLOGIA E NA PRODUTIVIDADE DE FRUTOS DE TOMATEIRO CULTIVAR ÂNGELA GIGANTE

The objective of the present work was to observe some morphological aspects of the fruits of Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv. Ângela Gigante, treated with plant growth regulators, with or without additional fertilizers, as well to determine the effects on the productivity. Two assays were conducted in the greenhouse: (1) in the first, the seedlings were selected and transferred to 12 L capacity pots, containing a mixture of clayey soil, sand, organic matter and a complementary N, P, K mineral fertilizing; (2) in the second after the seedling transfer, besides the N, P, K fertilizing, a supplementary fertirrigation was carried out with the objective of verifying the effect on fruit production. In both assays after the plants had developed four definitive leaves, they were sprayed with GA3 50 mg/L; NAA 100 mg/L; CCC 1,500 mg/L and SADH 3,000 mg/L. Four fruit harvests per plant were carried out in both assays. The treatment with CCC without fertirrigation, tended to increase the number and the total weight of ripe fruits per plant in each of the four harvests. The additional fertirrigation did not change significantly fruit yield in the different treatments, when compared to the control. The treatment with GA3 induced early maturation of placenta in relation to the pericarp. Geminated fruits were observed in plants treated with growth promoters and the formation of anomalous fruits in those treated with growth retardants.
