This work aims to evaluate the performance of the loss of field protection methods in synchronous generators. The techniques are introduced to make available in a single text the various loss of field protection methods. The techiques were evaluated by means of computational simulations of loss of field and stable power oscillation. Due to the fact of having settings that depend on the parameters of the protected generator (Xd and X'd), it was performed a analysis with three machines of different parameters.
