This is a study made from the analysis of Occurrence Bulletins (OB), to characterize the home and family violence against women in a city of Minas Gerais, Brazil, during the year 2011. The aim of this study was to make a strategic plan of actions in the scope of health. Thus, 392 OB were analyzed from the total of 715 registered in 2011. The victims and the attackers were characterized from information in the OB. The victims had an average age of 33.28 years and the attackers, an average age of 35.55 years. The majority of the OB was on Sundays and only 22.7% of the attackers were inebriated in the moment of the violence.
