Research in environmental education: Brazilian production approaches and some dilemmas

Based on papers related to environmental education research we tried in this article to point out some tendencies and perspectives in this field in Brazil. It is clear the numerical growth in research in this area in the last ten years. From the methodological point of view we can observe the tendency to the qualitative approach, oriented sometimes to the colaborative action. It is also clear that the carried out researches are concentrated in some geographical regions. The pos-graduate system in state universities is the privileged "locus" for these researches. The close relationship between investigations in environmental education and the pos-graduate system shows that to understand the environmental education research in Brazil it is necessary to understand this level of our educational system. We pointed out the importance of constructing multiple spaces to discuss and divulgate the research production in this area and to mobilize politically the environmental education researchers in Brazil.
