The main goal of this article is to discuss the teaching possibilities and historical knowledge construction in the indigenous communities of Guarani-mbya, from Sapucaí Indian settlement, in an intellectual school education context. Thinking over about the use of image documentation - photography, pictures and iconography - not produced by indigenous people as historical sources in the reconstruction and recording of an indigenous memory.
