Open-access TRAINING AND TEACHING WORK IN LULA’S THIRD GOVERNMENT: NEW POLICIES, OLD TARGET

ABSTRACT

In this text, we discussed three documents published in 2024 relating to teaching in which the directions to be followed are indicated: the final text of the National Education Conference, Bill nº 2614/24 of the National Education Plan 2025-2035 and CNE/CP Opinion nº 4/2024, which imposes new National Curricular Guidelines for the Initial Teaching Educations. There is intimate articulation of State institutions, private apparatuses of hegemony and their intellectuals with multilateral organizations in shaping strategies for consensus common ideas. Slogans announce rights, but without policies that allow their realization. The intended meaning of work and teaching education is linked to the 4th Sustainable Development Goal – Quality Education –, drawn up by the United Nations (UN). It comprises “knowledge and skills for sustainable development”, education as a human right, gender equality, a culture of peace and global citizenship, respect for diversity, attention to the vulnerable and concern with teaching qualifications according to international standards. “Teacher valorization” encourages the expansion of the basis for legitimizing capitalist sociability.
