Open-access THE PITÁGORAS NETWORK IN PARÁ AND THE LARGE PROJECTS IN THE AMAZON

ABSTRACT

This article analyzes the incursion of the Pitágoras Network into the state of Pará, explaining the group’s strategies for providing education in municipalities that are part of large-scale projects in the Amazon, where large-scale mining companies have been established. It is assumed that the State plays a fundamental role in building the material bases necessary for the installation and expansion of large-scale capital, as well as its contribution to the deepening of the process of privatization of education. A bibliographic review and documentary analysis are used. The study showed that the expansion of the educational offering of the Pitágoras Network in Pará is linked to large-scale mining projects, favored by the State power, and changes its form of operation after joining the financial market.
