Deafness, language and culture

This paper analyses critically the relationship between the deafness, language and culture, from three basic theoretical references: history, the multiculturalist approach and the relationship between normality and patology, to discuss the social integration of the deaf. In this sense, it searches to overcome the dicotomic and a-historic vision that who centers the analysis on the the social environment distinction between the "hearing society" and the "deaf community"
